So! Over the Valentine’s Day weekend, I went up to New York with my drama club. We were participating in the first Broadway Student Summit and it was bucketloads of fun! We saw some shows as well: Fela, Next to Normal, and In the Heights. You can live the trip by watching the many videos on Facebook. I will now post some photos!

We had several snowball fights in Central Park.

We stagedoored Next to Normal forever even though they said the actors wouldn’t come out. Only J. Robert Spencer (it was his birthday, by the way!) and Louis Hobson came out but that was still super fun! My Curtains friend, Anna, was also at the show but we sadly were not able to meet up to say hi to each other.
This is our biffle, Rickey Tripp. He and one of the female swings talked to us the day before about In the Heights. We were going to have a talkback with the cast but it was Robin de Jesus’s last show (Lin Manuel Miranda came out wearing a wig while “The Best of Times is Now” played to give him flowers because the guy is going on to be in La Cage now!) so they went out partying or something. We met Corbin Bleu (AKA Corbeeeeeeeen!) and were amazed at how many small children were crushed against things in the mad rush at him.

WORKSHOPPY GOODNESS.
Before I leave, I give you these words of wisdom:

Okayso. I went to a LATIN COMPETITION today and it was pretty exciting. Also ridiculously long. But also exciting! I took some tests and stuff about Latin things and whatnot and I submitted a drawing of Narcissus. Yay!

I got third place for it. YAY. Exciting stuff. Latinlatinlatin.

Emma: Lara, look at this? (holding up an envelope)
Lara: Haha, college mail?
Emma: Noooo… Jones Soda Co.
Lara: WHAAAAAAAAAT.
Okay. So. Remember that one time when I submitted a photo to Jones Soda? I’m just going to type this up:
“You got your photo on a bottle of Jones Soda! You are the cream of the crop! The king of the hill! The cat’s meow! And before you go thinking that we’re being sarcastic, let me assure that we really, truly mean it. Only a mere 1% of all submitted photos make it to the much sought after Jones label. So, please take a moment to step back, bask in all your glory and know that you are officially neater today than you were yesterday. Want your own bottle? Check your local store where you already buy Jones! Happy hunting!
Sincerely,
Everyone at Jones Soda Co.”
OKAY. The sent me some labels and apparently it’s on the Berry Lemonade soda. HAVE A PHOTO:

OMG OMG OMG

Have a fake album cover!
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first article title on the page is the name of your band.
2. http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote is the title of your album.
3. http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
The third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4.Use your graphics program of choice to throw them together, and post the result as a comment in this post. Also, pass it along in your own journal because it’s more amusing that way.

I WOULD BUY IT.

I have wanted to post this for like a week but I wanted to wait until exams were over.
HOLIDAYS ARE COMIN’
I saw The Princess and the Frog the other day and loved it! They used every Disney cliche ever and still rocked it! YAY DISNEY! Please do more 2D animation. Please. The shadows were so cool and definitely something that small-child-me would be afraid of! They reminded me of the green evil demon things from Anastasia. I loved all of the human character designs enough that they made up for the kind of lame animal designs. I did like frog!Tiana’s design.
Anyways. HOLIDAYS ARE COMING.
